Daytime Activities
10:00am-3:00pm
Join a game of lawn bowls or create a silhouette with the Dashwood sisters, take tea with Lady Catherine de Bourgh, cross swords with Admiral Croft, stroll the grounds of a beautiful historic house with Catherine Morland, and meet other beloved characters from your favorite novels as you immerse yourself in Jane Austen’s world. Don’t miss Highbury’s marketplace to spend a little pin money or our lineup of excellent classes on all things Austen.
Evening Ball
5:30pm-10:00pm
“Every body seemed happy; and the praise of being a delightful ball, which is seldom bestowed till after a ball has ceased to be, was repeatedly given in the very beginning of the existence of this.” — Emma
Drift across the candlelit ballroom to the whisper of silks and murmur of happy conversation as our esteemed callers instruct guests in an array of Regency dances. Be certain you have caught an amiable partner for the supper dance, so you may proceed together to the dining room to enjoy an excellent feast. After refreshment, prepare to resume dancing the night away, try your luck at the card tables, or take a peek at the illustrious shops of the Highbury Market.
Supper and dessert provided by Magelby’s.
The Marketplace
“He was a great deal too full of the market to think of anything else—which is just as it should be for a thriving man.” — Emma
Wander through the Highbury Market to browse a selection of fine goods from our esteemed proprietors. From art to trinkets, there is something for everyone in Highbury!
The Marketplace will run through both daytime and evening festivities. Due to the impropriety of a lady or gentleman carrying excessive money on her or his person, this event is CASHLESS for the benefit of our vendors. Please plan accordingly.
